Virtual Action With Africa Final Coming Up!
On Tuesday, 19 August, the virtual Action With Africa Challenge Final will take place from 13:00 to 15:00 CEST (GMT+2), and we warmly invite everyone to join the livestream on YouTube. Our host Sarah – familiar to many from previous years – will welcome the TOP 6 teams and guide them through the final competition. With support from our program partners, the livestream will be professionally produced to ensure a great experience for all viewers.
Finalist Projects (in presenting order):
- Biot from Zimbabwe transforms chicken feathers into nutrient-rich hydrogels, hygiene products, and animal feed.
- EcoVolt from Nigeria recycles electronic waste into affordable, rechargeable energy devices, bringing clean energy to underserved regions.
- EcoGuard from Tunisia combats harmful pests using natural methods, protecting both the environment and human health.
- Plastix from Egypt produces durable, eco-friendly construction bricks made from recycled plastic, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional materials.
- IThemba from Zimbabwe uses pyrolysis to convert plastic waste into diesel and paraffin, creating new opportunities for women and youth.
- Taka Taka Zero from the UK uses non-recyclable waste as an energy source for a community oven, enabling affordable meals and creating jobs.
We will also announce the TOP 3 early-stage winners during the session, each receiving EUR 500 in project funding.
